All moms and dads want all the best, tasty and always healthy for their child. After all, the health of a child is perhaps the greatest value in the life of a parent.

We already know a lot about the benefits of tea, so I want to introduce my child to this wonderful drink. It is known that children are very mobile and their need for fluid is often higher than that of adults. Do not pamper your baby with sweet soda or packaged juices - you know very well that there is nothing useful in such drinks.

Can children drink tea?

It is possible and necessary. Tea perfectly quenches thirst, it is delicious, and you can talk endlessly about the benefits of tea - we have a separate article about this. In addition, the taste preferences of children are formed from the first months of life. Cultivate this healthy habit almost from birth.

At what age can children drink tea?

  • Some types of tea, such as white tea, can be given to a child from birth and even before. White tea is very useful for pregnant women - it is rich in antioxidants and vitamins necessary for the health of the unborn baby. Newborn babies can drink 100-150 ml of this healing drink. White tea, among other things, perfectly increases immunity and helps the baby cope with possible infections and colds.
  • Children aged 2-7 can drink any type of tea for 3-4 standard cups. Of course, you should take into account the tonic or relaxing properties of different types of tea and brew different varieties in accordance with these characteristics - green tea only in the morning, black tea or oolong tea - during the day or in the evening.
  • Schoolchildren and adolescents need at least 2 liters of fluid a day. Adequate fluid is a source of healthy development and health for your child. 4-5 cups of good tea a day - and the growing body will receive most of the necessary vitamins and minerals.

What tea is best for children to drink?

Different tea has different beneficial properties, so when choosing a flavored drink, you need to take into account the individual characteristics and needs of your child. For the full development and good health of a growing body, vitamins, minerals, amino acids and many other substances are needed.

  • White tea is the strongest immunomodulator. It strengthens the body's defenses, serves as an excellent prevention of colds and infections, contains a whole range of vitamins and antioxidants and has no contraindications.
  • Green tea is a source of vitamins and minerals necessary for the healthy growth of bones, teeth, nails and hair. It has a healing and tonic effect. The high content of vitamin C will allow you to give up ascorbins and forget about colds.
  • Black tea normalizes digestion, helps fight intestinal poisoning, warms up, helps to cure colds.
  • Oolongs and pu-erhs gently and effectively remove toxins from the body, relieve intestinal colic.

The effect of tea on the emotional state of the child.

The psyche of a child is different from the psyche of an adult. Children are more emotional, prone to mood swings, babies are touchy, adolescents are sometimes prone to aggression, therefore, it is worth considering the choice of tea for a child with special responsibility. Therefore, tea with a strong effect on the emotional state should be given with caution.

Green tea for children

Green tea is very rich in vitamin C, so children should definitely drink it. But keep in mind that the ability of green tea to tone up and have a stimulating effect on the nervous system can be unfavorable factors. In a growing child, the immaturity of the processes of inhibition and excitation is noted, therefore, stimulation and overexcitation of the nervous system can cause insomnia, and negatively affect the process of growth and development. Do not give your child green tea in the afternoon, do not brew it too hard, do not exceed 3 cups a day - and your child will benefit exclusively from this healing drink.

Pu-erh for children

Shu pu-erh is able to expand the boundaries of perception and awaken imagination. Children often show an excess of imagination and creativity even without pu-erh, so it is necessary to instill a love for pu-erh, starting with small portions. Observe the child's reaction, ask about his feelings and mood. Do not give up shu pu-erh - it develops creative thinking and can help your child write an essay or, for example, make a creative craft with his own hands, draw a picture. In addition, pu-erh helps to fight the consequences of food poisoning, and children often suffer from similar troubles.

Sheng pu-erh encourages physical activity, it is good to drink it before sports.

I would also like to mention white pu-erh - it is very soft and sweetish in taste, inspires and harmonizes, evens out emotions and fills with a joyful mood. White pu-erh is 100% composed of tea kidney, it contains the maximum amount of vitamins and useful amino acids.

Oolong for children

Oolongs such as Da Hong Pao and Tie Guan Yin, thenthe same can be attributed to teas with strong energetic effects. In terms of its influence on the emotional state, Da Hong Pao is close to shu pu-erh, green Tie Guan Yin is close to white pu-erh. However, the effect of tea is very individual, try, observe, ask how tea has affected your child, what he feels.

Black tea for children

Black tea does not really change the emotional state, but it has the property of creating a feeling of comfort and security. If your child is upset about something, he was offended in kindergarten or school - make him a cup of black tea, maybe with sweets. The feeling of home comfort, parental care, security and warmth will quickly improve mood and remove depression.

And finally, about children's taste preferences. Kids love sweets, but you shouldn't spoil the wonderful taste of real tea with sugar. Many types of tea have a slightly sweet natural taste and aftertaste. Pay the child's attention to this, let him feel the natural sweetness instead of the harmful sugar. Do not force your child to drink tea if it does not taste good to him - just try a different variety. In the vast world of Chinese tea, your child will definitely choose the tea that suits his taste.

Summary

Children can and even need to drink tea. Tea is a source of vitamins, minerals and trace elements necessary for a growing body. And also a source of pleasure :-)

Instill in children a taste for good tea, let them grow up healthy and happy!
