Transformation of the classical form of Xi Shi - Bian Xi Shi. An oval, streamlined body, a small, optimistically raised nose, a neat, slightly bent down-shaped handle in the shape of an "inverted ear" and a small "cap" of the lid crowned with a pearl - all the details together create an elegant and cute silhouette that will surely give a great mood during tea drinking.
In such a teapot, it is good to brew pu-erh or red tea. The teapot's comfortable volume goes well with small earthenware bowls.
Clay from Isin is famous all over the world, it has a porous structure, which prevents the drink from quickly cooling and allows the tea to breathe. The texture of Yixing clay is very plastic, which allows craftsmen to make real masterpieces of various shapes and volumes. To get one color or another, real pottery artists mix several types of clays from different deposits, vary the firing temperature, add organic and mineral substances. But the color of the main material remains dominant. There are several basic shades of Yixing clay: red, purple, green, yellow and black.
To date, the original clay deposit has been closed. The clay used now is also mined in Isin, only in other deposits. But this does not mean at all that teapots made from clay from other deposits are fake.
