Jasmine tea is a classic combination of Chinese green tea with the fragrant aroma of jasmine flowers.

Elite jasmine tea does not aromatize with essential oils. A charming aroma is produced by the joint storage of freshly picked green tea and jasmine flowers for a hundred days.

Every week the flowers are changed to fresh. At the end of the process of joint storage, flowers are manually picked, leaving only tea leaves filled with wonderful jasmine aroma.

That is why you will not find jasmine flowers in real jasmine tea. Dried jasmine flowers smell completely different, this is the scent of dried flowers, the dried flower will never exude a fresh scent.

Do not believe it - try to pick a jasmine flower and dry it in the sun - the aroma will remain pleasant, but it is a completely different fragrance, unlike the fresh smell of a blooming flower.

Obviously, as a part of tea, dried flowers will not be able to add fresh aroma. So if you bought jasmine tea, which smells fresh flowers, but at the same time you see dried buds in it - this is not a quality indicator, but rather the opposite. The presence of flowers in tea is a sign of artificial flavoring.

How to make a real jasmine tea?

For the production of elite jasmine tea using only the top tea leaves and undiscovered buds collected in early spring. Jasmine flowers also take a special variety - only the freshest, just blooming.

Tea is harvested in the early morning, before dawn, until the sun's rays had time to warm the tea leaf.

The collected raw materials are twisted into small pearls and spread on the fabric. Cover with another layer of fabric, which lay out fresh jasmine flowers.

Every day, the tea master controls the drying process - he agitates and goes over the tea leaf, so that it is evenly distributed. Every week, jasmine flowers change to fresh. Tea absorbs floral aroma and is filled with the energy of sunny flowers. At the end of the process, flowers are selected, and tea is packaged for sale.

Such a process for the production of jasmine tea is extremely expensive and time consuming, respectively, and the cost of this tea is considerable.

There is another, simpler way to produce jasmine tea. The tea leaf is harvested and steamed with jasmine flowers. This speeds up the process of natural flavoring, but, unfortunately, in this case, tea loses a significant part of its beneficial properties.

Ordinary jasmine tea, which can now be purchased at any supermarket - nothing more than tea production waste, swept away from the table and “enriched” with artificial flavoring. Accordingly, the cost of this tea is very low.

    Legend

One day a simple merchant invited a tea master to visit. Wanting to surprise the guest of honor, he decided to make tea, presented to him by one simple peasant girl. Brewed tea filled the room with an amazing aroma, and a shining cloud appeared above the cups, in which the image of a beautiful girl with a bouquet of white flowers in her hands clearly appeared. The tea master was delighted with the drink, and in the vision of a beautiful girl with a bouquet he saw a good sign. Looking closely, they determined that the girl was holding jasmine flowers in her hands. Since then, jasmine tea began to be prepared in all homes.

    How to brew jasmine tea

  • For brewing, use mild purified water up to 80 ° C.
  • Take a teaspoon of dry tea (with a slide) for a cup or other brewing capacity of 250-300 ml.
  • Fill with water, leave for 3-5 minutes. After that, the tea must be poured into another container (to separate the finished infusion from the tea leaf) - a long infusion can make your green tea bitter.

Do not pour boiling water over green tea! Excessive hot water will destroy not only the delicate sweet taste and aroma of green tea, but most of the beneficial properties of this wonderful drink will be lost.

If you have time for tea drinking, we recommend

Brewing tea in the "strait" way

To do this, take a small brewing vessel - it can be a small 150-200 ml teapot, a gaiwan, a teapot with a drain button, or even a regular cup with a brewing capacity. With this tea brewing, you need to take so much so that the dry leaf fills the brewing capacity by at least a third.

Tea is filled with water at 80 ° C and almost immediately poured into cups. The time of infusion should not exceed the time equal to your three free breaths.

Tea is drunk from small cups (pial), so that you can enjoy every sip. Thus, you get up to 15 brews, in each of them opening new notes of taste and aroma and enjoying the change of tea conditions.
