Gaiwan porcelain with hieroglyphs
Volume 180 ml
Origin: Jingdezhen
Jingdezhen (Jiangxi Province, China) is called the ceramic capital of China. The most beautiful ceramics have been produced here for 1800 years. During the Song Dynasty, Emperor Zhenzong issued an order according to which Jingdezhen masters had to make porcelain for the imperial court and indicate on each piece: "Was produced during the Jingde reign." Since then, people have called all ceramics with such an inscription "Jingdezhen porcelain."
